Ouch !!! by addickens at Garmin Connect - Details

Well, darn it. I kind of figure I jinxed myself by stating in yesterday's post that I was sending in the check for the 16 mile trail run in October. On this morning's run, shortly after crossing McIntosh Rd. I felt that familiar nagging feeling in my lower right leg. Darn it.!!! My 1st thought was to not take the Sawyer Loop Rd. extension and keep running. About a block later, I threw in the towel and walked home with a slight limp.

As fate would have it, after I entered our neighborhood and was walking south, I heard the sound of flip flops behind me. Soon, a little gal I had not seen before was by my side so I felt obligated to engage her in conversation (and pick up the pace) since I didn't want to seem unfriendly. Turns out she was born in London and now lives in the the south of France and is visiting her aunt in our neighborhood for a couple weeks. Of course I had to tell her about my Brompton.

Well, the check did not go in the mail for the 16 miler in October. I am rehabbing my lower right leg and hope to be good enough for a short run with my Chi Running friend next Saturday. At this point its possible my next event will be the Wildhorse Trail 10M in November.

Great job on the run but sorry to hear about your leg. Maybe your Chi Running buddy will be able to detect a hitch in your stride that is causing the pain and, thus, give you some advice on how to correct it.

The young lady was running in flip flops? That's new. :)
